Great cradle

I've already got a Belkin Tunebase for my iPhone 3GS, but it's sited too low down in my car for me to make use of Google Traffic on the move. So I bought this. My phone's in a bulky case but it still fits beautifully, thanks to two movable feet at the base and the ratcheted clamps at either side. I had no trouble sticking it to the windscreen and in over two weeks of use it hasn't come unstuck yet.
The arm is very sturdy but fairly flexible. However, I've had to position the cradle so it's 'leaning' against my instrument binacle, because with the phone in place (and it floating freely) there was some wobbliness to the set-up when on the move. To be fair, I think you'd get this to an extent with any similarly designed cradle.

For the money, it's an excellent cradle.
Poor build quality, even poorer service from kensington

I purchased two of the Kensington car mounts for my partner and I. Within 3 months, both of them had problems with the release button on the back constantly becoming stuck when releasing the phone. Amazon suggest first point of contact should be Kensington so I contacted them via their website where they promise a response within 24 hours. I emailed them with a problem description, they replied 5 days later requesting a copy of the invoice. I emailed them the invoice and they replied 5 days later again asking for a copy of the invoice again. So I email them the invoice (again) and yet again they took 5 days to reply asking for the invoice. In the end I gave up, sent it back to amazon for a refund and bought another brand.

Very poor build quality for a relatively expensive car cradle and even worse customer service from kensington. Hats off to amazon, they issued me with a refund within 48 hours of me informing them I was having issues.
Great for the iPhone 4

I bought this for use with my iPhone 4 and am not disappointed. Sometimes these universal mounts can be a little ungainly but this is pretty discrete and well put together. With the way the feet are positioned at the bottom the charging socket and both speakers are fully exposed.

I have my iPhone in a Incipio Feather case and the slight extra weight does not cause a problem for the rigidity of the mount.

A nice unexpected bonus was that a 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead is included to connect it to a car stereo if you have such a socket on your stereo, but further to this there is a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter also included.
Value for money

This is a good solid bit of kit at an unbelievable price. It fixes firmly to the windscreen and has a fully adjustable system that means it will hold most ipods and mp3 players. My ipod classic fits perfectly. It looks good too, so I am quite happy to leave it in place all the time. If you are looking for a car mount for your ipod, then I would definitely recommend this one. My husband is just about to order another one for his car.
