Important Notes:

1. The connector could be the weak point since there's no protection facilitated. Please put the iPod/iPhone on the table when connecting to the battery.

2. Please DO NOT try to charge the battery while it is charging your iPhone or iPod, it will lead to the malfunction of your battery.

3. Very few customers may meet the warming message "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone", the problem could be caused by one of following five reasons.

* Third party battery software

So far we have only met two defective unit which lead the same warning message shown on our test iphones. Most of our customer returned items did not show the warming messages on any of our 11 test iPhones 3gs and 2 iphone 4g, which are at the original default manufacturer setting, cleaning and empty.

third-party battery management software may cause some compatibility problems, we would like to suggest our customers to upgrade your iPhone firmware to the latest iOS 4.0 and remove all third-party battery management software to avoid possible problems.

* Dirty dock connector. This could be caused by some kind of debris or dust in your dock connector.

The solution entails cleaning the docking area of your phone. We suggest using a dry soft bristled tooth brush. Some people have suggested using compressed air and vacuum tools. However, please try not to damage the product by applying any aggressive method or even water cleaning.

* This product was designed for the original iPhone, the jailbreak iPhone user may meet this warming message

* The item is defective

Unreliable.

So far I have bought 3 of these - the first one (bought a few months ago) was fine but I gave it to a friend - as far as I know it is still working fine. Bought another to replace it but came up with "charging is not supported with this accessory" on 3 different iPhone I tested it with - so was returned for a credit. Recently thought that perhaps I was just unlucky so bought another one - unfortunatly same issue as the second one.

Sometimes it would work for a few minutes - sometimes a bit longer but never managed to get more than about 10% into the unit before it returned the dreaded "charging is not supported with this accessory".

Certain it is not a problem with my iPhone - the connector is not full of dust (as they mention) and works fine with various other chargers / docks / cables. Tried charging it - using it - recharging it 2-3 times - makes no difference so just feel wasted a lot of time. Tested it with a second iPhone - same result. Tested my new unit with my friends iPhone (who I gave the original unit to) - same result. All iPhones were running iOS 4.x (latest).

Suspect either the quality control has gone wrong somewhere or the newer units are a different (inferior) design - needless to say not going to waste time trying another one ;(

MY TECKNET PRODUCT WAS SIMPLE TO USE AND COMPACT...IT WORKED WELL FOR TWO MONTHS AND NOW DOES NOT WORK AT ALL...I THINK THE POSITIVE RESPONSES ARE FROM INITIAL USERS, AND BIELEVE THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE AVOIDED

The battery lights up four but as soon as it is plugged into the Ipod one light disappears.
As for getting three to four charges out of it this claim is in my experience totally false.
I got one full charge, with only enough for a partial charge after that.
And to top it off it has stopped working after two weeks.

This battery worked fine as expected, and actually saved me a few times as I am carrying 2 iPhones with me all the time for roaming reasons, before it totally died after a few months of usage and now refuses to charge at all.

Though the price was really competitive at first glance, I was expected the battery to last more than 5 months !

Anybody else with the same problem ?
